Vehicle Traffic Defense

The Dale Law Firm, P.C. assists clients with numerous types of vehicle traffic defense cases. Traffic violations can vary depending on the circumstance. When most people think about a traffic ticket, they may underestimate the consequences of that traffic violation under the law. It is never “just a ticket.” Traffic violations have many consequences impacting your life outside of the court room. And there is a significant difference between a traffic misdemeanor and a traffic infraction.

The possible penalties for traffic misdemeanors include:

Jail up to 2 years;

Fines up to $3,000 per charge;

Court costs and surcharges;

Points assessed against your license, and possible revocation.

The possible penalties for a traffic infraction include:

No jail;

Fines up to $999.00 per charge;

Court costs and surcharges;

Points assessed against your license and, depending on circumstance, possible revocation.

Estate Planning & Probate

Estate planning means drafting a plan in advance and naming whom you want to make decisions for you in the event of incapacity as well as stating who will receive the things you own after you pass away. Estate planning documents can include wills, trusts, power of attorney, advanced medical directives (also known as a living will), guardianship appointment for minor children, and several others.

Probate is the process of distributing a decedent's property at death. Whether your loved one died intestate (without a will) or with a will, The Dale Law Firm, P.C. can help you settle his or her affairs in a timely manner. We start by discussing the estate administration process and drafting the necessary documents for your appointment as personal representative (known as an executor in other states). After the paperwork is filed with the court and you are appointed, we assist by working closely with you in contacting financial institutions, transferring real estate, and advise about best practices regarding creditor claims and making estate distributions. Working with an experienced attorney ensures an effective and efficient administration. Please contact our office to set up a free consultation.

Family Law

The Dale Law Firm, P.C. is committed to helping families deal with the legal, financial, and emotional matters associated with divorce. We pay particular attention to the needs of children, ensuring that their best interests are protected throughout the divorce proceedings. We are experienced and will work with you to help equitably resolve the personal, financial and emotional consequences of your divorce.

The Dale Law Firm also specializes in military divorce. Military divorce creates its own set of unique issues. As opposed to civilian divorce, military divorce rules include a mix of both state and federal laws which can make the divorce process confusing and complex. Normally with a typical divorce, the state requires at least one party to be a resident of the state. In cases of military divorce that might be difficult since those serving in the military may not always be a legal resident of the state they are currently living in. Due to the special circumstances that a military divorce poses, the state first must establish personal jurisdiction over the parties. Factors establishing personal jurisdiction include where the member is stationed, where you or your spouse reside, and the state where you or the member claim residency. Once the state establishes personal jurisdiction, it must then establish the authority of a court to hear cases of a particular matter. The Dale Law Firm, P.C. will help you navigate these complex issues.
